Vayth
Yudian founded Vayth in Indonesia in 2022 after years of collecting at the level most micro-brand founders never reach — Urwerk, De Bethune, brands that solve time display as an engineering problem. When Deployant visited Vayth’s table at Spring Sprang Sprung 2023, they came away with one of the most unambiguous assessments in their show coverage: they were surprised at the price when Yudian told them. The brand is pronounced “Faith” — and it is an appropriate name for an Indonesian founder building wandering hour complications in a market that rarely expects them from this geography.
What We Achieved
Vayth’s V2 was singled out as Best in Show at Spring Sprang Sprung 2023 by the Deployant editorial team — who noted that the quality and solidity of the watch defied the price. A wandering hour complication, Swiss Selita SW200 base, multiple custom components, available in various case materials, retailing around USD 1,800.

Origin
Yudian arrived at Vayth via the collector’s path — acquiring complex watches from brands at the very top of independent watchmaking, studying how they solved time display, then asking whether those solutions could be replicated at a fraction of the cost. The answer was yes, if you were willing to invest the engineering time. He was.
Design Philosophy
The wandering hour: an hour numeral that moves across the dial in an arc, pausing at minute markers rather than sweeping continuously. The complication has been a signature of avant-garde watchmaking for decades — found in Urwerk at CHF 50,000+, in a handful of other independents, and now in Vayth at USD 1,800. The case materials span multiple finishes, recognising that the collectors drawn to this complication will have distinct aesthetic preferences.
The Collection
The V2 is the signature piece — wandering hour, Swiss base movement with extensive custom components, multiple case material configurations including yellow gold. The YT.03 series introduces further variants in stainless steel and yellow gold at 40mm. Each configuration is available in limited numbers, by request. The collection is small because the ambition is precision, not volume.
