Samuel Soleilhac arrived at watchmaking through a path the industry would not have designed for him. Electrician, fitness coach, cybersecurity consultant — each discipline a detour, none of them horological. What was always present, he says, was a need to design, create, and bring mechanisms to life. Watchmaking was not a pivot. It was the recognition, arrived at late, that everything before it had been preparation. Soleilhac was founded in Geneva in 2023 — in the city that built the watch industry — by a self-taught constructor who had no formal training and no received assumptions about how a calibre had to work.

The debut concept was called Pendule — a name that suggests pendulum mechanics and clocks rather than balance wheels and wristwatches. It was an early signal of how Soleilhac approaches the question of what a movement can be.

The project evolved significantly before arriving at Harmonie, its final form — but the original provocation remained: that a calibre should have its own aesthetic and mechanical signature, not simply execute standard functions in a standard way. For Samuel Soleilhac, the act of construction is inseparable from the act of design. He builds from conviction, not convention.
Design Philosophy
Soleilhac’s stated ambition is to create calibres that provide a unique experience without compromising elegance or refinement — watches that combine traditional expertise and innovation through their own aesthetic and mechanical signature. The bi-rotor automatic movement at the heart of Harmonie is the primary expression of this: the mechanics are not concealed. They are the composition. The case and dial are organised to foreground the movement, to make the act of winding, oscillating, and transmitting energy visible to the wearer in a way that a conventional display back cannot achieve. The Collection
Harmonie is the debut — a bi-rotor automatic that debuted in a rose gold aventurine configuration. The Pendule concept from 2023 evolved substantially to reach it, and the Harmonie represents the brand’s first complete expression of its stated vision: innovation and tradition in balance, the mechanics made visible, an object that carries both precision and personality. Soleilhac Sarl is registered in Geneva. The brand is genuinely young, and Harmonie is genuinely early — which means the people who find it now are finding it first.
